An inspired place to rest

From the moment you walk through the front door into our calming lobby featuring details inspired by design from Egypt to India, Denmark to Japan, to the feel of brick, handmade concrete, and reclaimed wood from right here in Baltimore, to the moment when you first lay your head on a comforting pillow, you will feel your creativity become enlivened by the possibilities of your stay.

A spa-like retreat

All of the bathrooms inside guesthouse by good neighbor were designed to relax your senses. Our guests call it spa-like. That's because each of our king and queen rooms feature their own private bath with our soft in-house line of linens and handmade details like concrete sinks by our neighbors at Luke Works. We can't help but to agree with them.

A fully shoppable experience

Every surface and corner of guesthouse by good neighbor is shoppable. The most memorable parts of your stay can make the journey home with you from the aroma of Le Labo room fragrances to the storage opportunities of the in-room Frama shelving.

guesthouse stories

  • one year of guesthouse by good neighbor

Reflecting on the past year since opening our boutique, seven room, invisibile-service hotel, guesthouse by good neighbor. A hotel that feels like home. We're grateful for all that has come thus far and excited for what comes next.

  • our neighbor—Sarva Girdhar

Sarva Girdhar has been a fixture of Baltimore's art community for many years as a collector. A bond over Indian art and heritage was made between Shawn Chopra, co-owner of good neighbor, and Sarva leading to a generous lending and curation of art, now on view inside guesthouse by good neighbor.

Shawn and Sarva sat down to chat about Sarva's background, how Baltimore inspires him, and what it means to be a good neighbor.

  • guesthouse material study | concrete

guesthouse by good neighbor's designer, Shawn Chopra, references concrete through numerous elements at good neighbor, inspired by his parents' childhood in Chandigarh, India, a historic design capital of brutalism and concrete.
