The x+l 13 Full Circle Dining Table was designed by x+l as a response to Phantom Hands co-founder Aparna Rao’s request for a circular dining table that was compact and could be used in the kitchen. x+l made the table ‘as basic as possible’, while building on the design of earlier pieces they had created for Phantom Hands. As with many of their designs for Phantom Hands, elements of the table are inspired by the modernist design of Pierre Jeanneret’s furniture for Chandigarh.

The table has legs sticking out through the surface, making the construction and joineries visible and seemingly simple. The grains of wood on the tabletop are at an angle of 45 degrees to the legs, a deliberate design element specified by x+l.

The table is available in a choice of two timbers - Teak or American red oak. The Teak version is available in Phantom Hands’s signature natural teak and dark stain finishes. The American Red Oak version comes in a choice of two finishes - the dark bluish Burnt Cobalt Coir and the warm red Indian Mud. The warm red finish was inspired by the colour of the deep red earth soil of Bangalore and other places in India during the monsoons; hence the name Indian Mud. The Red Oak versions are brushed lightly with a steel brush to give the wood some texture and bring out the beauty of the natural grains
