Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a prominent Swedish lighting designer of the mid-20th century. Born in 1919, Jakobsson began his career as a carpenter before transitioning to lighting design. He founded his own company, Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB, in 1951, and quickly became known for his simple yet elegant designs. His work often featured organic shapes and natural materials, such as wood and rattan. Jakobsson's lighting fixtures were popular among architects and designers, and were widely used in public spaces as well as private homes. His designs were also featured in several exhibitions, including the Milan Triennale and the International Design Conference in Aspen. Today, Jakobsson's pieces are highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts around the world.

Scandinavian masterpiece the Jakobsson lamp, has been faithfully reproduced and assembled by traditional Japanese craftspeople. When illuminated, the thin wood casts a distinctly organic redish-orange filtered light that reveals the wood's fine grain and casts a warm and beautiful glow.
