Creativity, Kindness, and Coffee is a little spell we like to start the day with around our roasting and printing operation hidden away in Wilmington, Delaware, right outside of the Brandywine Valley. We aim to deliver a small bit of all of the above, plus a little wonder and joy with each screen printed bag of coffee that is sent out to the multiverse. All of our hand printed packages are filled with coffee intentionally, kindly, and responsibly sourced / roasted by our wonderful team of coffee mystics. Each hand printed bag features a custom illustration from the weirdly wonderful mind and hand of local Delaware artist Todd Purse. This helps emphasize that each coffee we release is itself a work of art living within.
Kenya Kiunyu: We Taste: Raspberry Jam, Wildflower Honey, Juicy, Tangerine
This coffee was produced by various smallholder farmers belonging to the Karithathi Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) delivering to the Kiunyu wet mill (locally known as a ‘factory’), located near the town of Kerugoya in Kenya’s Kirinyaga district.

In 1960, a group of coffee producers came together to create the Naranjo Coffee Growers and Multiple Services Cooperative, LLC in order to pool their efforts for coffee processing. They purchased their own mill and implemented measures to improve coffee quality and production in addition to educating the members about sustainable farming practices and providing agricultural technical assistance. La Rosa comes from four farms located in the Naranjo district. Naranjo is divided into 29 coffee growing areas that are “blessed for coffee” enjoying ideal growing conditions - soil, altitude, rainfall, and temperature - that combine to produce a unique coffee with delicate aroma, mild body and pleasing taste. The cooperative has successfully improved the coffee production of its members and enhanced their communities socially, financially, and sustainably.

This lot was sourced as part of the Cattleya project (formerly known as the Las Lomas project) between Coop Naranjo and Royal Coffee New York. This project was designed to provide larger lots of superior-quality coffee that is traceable and sustainable. Producers work closely with agronomists of Coopro Naranjo to determine the optimal time for cherry harvesting and pick coffee for this lot at the peak of the harvest. This project offers competitive pricing for participating members, rewarding those who work hard to produce high quality coffee. Royal NY looks forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come."
